The dissemination events corresponding to the Parametric Insurance based on Climate Indices, better known as Rain Insurance for Cocoa, consisted of publicizing the information related to its existence as a complementary financial instrument for the cocoa farmer in order to protect their crop and harvest on the probability of an extreme weather event.
The dissemination week began from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18, 2022, with the consulting team accompanied by Jaqueline Vargas, Regional Coordinator of the National Federation of Cocoa farmers (FEDECACAO) for the Department of Santander and Andrés Rivera, Contractor Engineer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the visits to San Vicente and El Carmen de Chucurí.
The dissemination events had an exceptional participation considering the assistance of more than 300 cocoa farmers both from Bucaramanga and from San Vicente and El Carmen de Chucurí. The characterization of the audience is considered such as: technical assistants, representatives of municipal committees, members of associations and independent producers.
