A conservation and ecological restoration project in Misiones has recently positioned itself as a benchmark in the voluntary carbon market. The initiative protects more than 22,000 hectares of the Atlantic Forest, one of the country’s most biodiverse ecosystems and also one of the most threatened.
The project combines high-precision environmental monitoring, sustainable forest management, the recovery of degraded areas, and direct actions for the protection of native species at risk. It also incorporates participation and consultation processes with local communities, strengthening territorial governance and social development linked to conservation.
Thanks to its comprehensive approach, the project generates carbon credits with climate, social, and biodiversity co-benefits, positioning Argentina as a country with strong potential to scale nature-based solutions.
At Génesis Sustentabilidad, we support organizations and territories seeking to design, validate, and strengthen carbon and biodiversity projects under international standards and with full socio-environmental traceability.
