The agroecological colonies promoted by the Union of Land Workers (UTT) were recognized by the United Nations as an inspiring example of transformation toward sustainable food systems. This model, developed in various Argentine provinces, promotes the production of healthy, chemical-free food under principles of fair trade, reviving ancestral practices and strengthening food sovereignty.
Through collective organization, farming families that once depended on costly leases gained access to land and built a new production paradigm based on cooperation, local economies, and soil regeneration. Today, these colonies integrate bio-factories, community nurseries, and training spaces that connect rural development, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
The international recognition of the UTT highlights the importance of agroecological models in the transition toward fairer, low-carbon economies. At Génesis Sustentabilidad, we promote this same approach — fostering productive practices that regenerate ecosystems, empower local communities, and provide real solutions to climate change.
