Buenos Aires, October 20, 2020- GENESIS ended the work carried out for VIDA SILVESTRE ARGENTINA AND WWF. This work arose from a tender won by our company in June 2020 where the objective was to analyze, together with one or two provinces of the Chaco region (Santa Fe and Chaco), if it is possible to have a traceability system for the chain of beef that allows to assure markets and the final consumer that the finished product comes from fields free of deforestation or illegal deforestation (as defined by the protocol). The process aims to be inclusive so that all producers in the Chaco region who meet the proposed objective can participate, prioritizing areas at risk of deforestation of native forests and based on official data that ensure international credibility.
The conclusion was more than positive, it proved that the official information required to certify the attribute of meat free from deforestation (illegal or not) is available in Argentina from the moment the animal is born until the meat reaches the consumer, thanks to traceability systems animal and its correlation with each of the properties in which it lived, from its birth to its slaughter.
The result of the aforementioned work offers a unique opportunity at the national level that could put our meats and other agribusiness products in conditions of world leadership, being one of the few countries that can count on reliable systems that contribute effectively to defense. of native forests at risk and that position our products with a differential attribute capable of satisfactorily responding to the aforementioned demands and trade limitations.
