September 1, 2016, Buenos Aires. The Agreement, created in France during the month of December 2015, seeks to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and provide cooperation among countries to face the consequences. In the month of April 2016 it was signed by over 170 countries, creating a huge boost to the commitment to ratification, and the consequent entry into force.<\/p>\n
With more than 55 ratifications representing more than 55% of global emissions the agreemen \u00a0shall enter into force. Ours is the 24th country to ratify the agreement, and the 2nd G20, which meets in the coming days in China and seek to give impetus to climate action.<\/p>\n
“Early ratification of the agreement shows political will of the Argentine state to be part of the international fight against climate change,” said Enrique Maurtua Konstantinidis, director of Climate Change FARN. “This goes hand in hand with the degree of increasing responsibility the country in global emissions, (today Argentina is ranked 21st in global issuers) “he added.<\/p>\n
