The meeting aimed to strengthen climate federalism, highlighting the key role of subnational governments in advancing the country\u2019s climate agenda ahead of COP30 in Bel\u00e9m do Par\u00e1, Brazil.<\/p>\n
During the event, Alejandra C\u00e1mara, Director of G\u00e9nesis, emphasized the importance of recognizing and showcasing provincial contributions to Argentina\u2019s national climate commitments. Florencia Mitchell (CFI) presented a comprehensive review of provincial climate action plans, aligned with the five pillars of the UN Climate Action Agenda.<\/p>\n
Discussions underscored both the progress achieved and the remaining challenges, such as the need to enhance technical and financial capacities, improve direct access to international funds, and leverage instruments like carbon credits, green bonds, and other climate finance mechanisms.<\/p>\n
